About this project
Kabuyonjo is a sanitation project that will focus on availing self-sustaining solutions to underserved communities in Kasokoso slum in Uganda. This will be done by constructing a block of three pit latrines, 1 urinal and 1 bathroom to improve community hygiene, reduce open defecation and flying toilets (faeces deposited in polythene bags thrown anywhere). Community members (especially the youth and women) will be engaged in the entire process, right from construction of the facilities to running them as an income generating activity for sustainability. Our core activities include; community engagement, recycling, construction of the pit latrines and clean, hygienic sustainability of the pit latrines.
