About this project
Jiboa Valley is a territory of 14 municipalities in El Salvador in Central America. Most of these municipalities are rural and are being affected by Climate Change. As a proposal that contributes to the solution of water scarcity, the National Foundation for Development (FUNDE), the Women’s Network of the Jiboa Valley, in collaboration with Global Water Partnership Central America (GWP CAM) and MEXICHEM El Salvador, are promoting the implementation of a new low-cost technology for the storage of rainwater in communities with difficult access to this resource.
Goals and Objectives
Strengthen capacities in women of Jiboa Valley for the installation and maintenance of rainwater harvesting system, Installation of 2 Rainwater Harvest systems with the participation of women from the communities where they are installed, as well as the local governments of these communities, directly benefiting 30 families around 150 people, Create a monitoring and monitoring system for rainwater harvesting systems in alliance with the University of El Salvador. Benefiting the 130 families.
